Inactive user
The user is turned off but kept in the system
Their relationships and historical data remain visible
You can still search them and review with who they were connected
They appear greyed out with “Inactive” next to their name
Does not consume a license
Best practice
Use this most of the time when someone leaves or changes roles
Helps with succession planning and keeping context on single‑threaded contacts
Deleted user
The user is permanently removed from Introhive
All their relationships are deleted and no longer visible
Historical context is lost
Best practice
Only delete when:
• The user was inactive for a long time and their relationships are no longer relevant
• Legal, contractual, or policy requirements demand full removal
• The person left under bad terms or passed away
